Harmful Chemicals 101

How often do we check on the products ingredients? Lets discovered about some of them. After reading it, I need to get start to check out the ingredients before I purchase the products.

• SLS/SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate)

A corrosive de-greaser found in cleaning agents. Also acts as a lathering agent, responsible for bubbles. Linked to skin & eye irritation, hair loss.

• Formaldehyde

Used to prevent bacteria growth. Linked to cancer and allergic skin reactions

• Triclosan 

 An anti-microbial chemical which is known to disrupt reproductive hormones and irritate skin. It is chemically similar to the deadly biochemical weapon named Agent Orange used during the Vietnam war.

• Fragrance (Artificial)

Artificial fragrances are known to cause allergies, dermatitis and potential effects on the reproductive and respiratory system.

• Parabens 

Chemical preservative which dry out and irritate the skin. Associated with increased risk of breast cancer.

•  DEA (Diethanolamine) 

 A carcinogenic lathering agent linked to bladder, esophagus, liver and stomach cancer.

• PEG (Polyethylene Glycol)    

A chemical used to create a creamy texture. A carcinogenic chemical that may interfere with human development.
